As a series of the Ford tractors, the 8N began its production in 1947. It had been designed to become the all time top selling tractor in North America featuring a Ferguson System three-point hitch along with a 4-speed transmission. One of the major changes apart from the 2N and 9N models was the addition of a position control setting for the hydraulics which was implemented to increase and improve flexibility through various types of soil.
